Choir Family is the first rock-pop choir in Vrsac (Serbia). It was founded in October 2022 and it quickly gathered more than 40 members - lovers of choral singing of rock and pop genres.
The choir's repertoire includes covers of the most popular songs by Tina Turner, Janis Joplin, Prince, Lennon, Dylan, Cohen, Pink Floyd, U2, Eurythmics and others. Choir Family perform with the Family band and soloists.
So far, Family have had several notable solo performances and concerts, also participated in art projects and organized several humanitarian actions. The choir is led by Sonja Matanov-Jerkovic - music professor.
The members of the Family band are: Teodora Nadj - piano, Aleksandar Jerkovic - guitars, vocals, Milan Zavisin - bass guitar, Darko Crnobrnja - drums, percussion, Nenad Šojić - synthesizer.

The founder and conductor of the choir is Sonja Matanov-Jerkovic. Sonja was born in 1975 in Vršac, where she still lives and works. She finished secondary music school in Pančevo, and graduated from the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, in the department of musical art. In 2016, Sonja founded and has led the children's choir RASPEVANO SRCE (Singing heart) since then, and she founded the rock pop choir FAMILY in 2022., and has been teaching theoretical subjects at the "Josif Marinković" Music School in Vršac since 2007. Sonja Matanov-Jerkovic is the artistic director of the Children's Singing Festival PEVAJMO SRCEM (Let's sing with our hearts).
If you love and can sing, are between 15 and 75 years old and love rock and pop music, then the first rock-pop choir in Vršac "Family" is the right place for you! New members are accepted several times a year.
We need sopranos (high female voices), altos (deep female voices), tenors (high male voices or the deepest female voices) and baritones - basses (deep male voices). If you don't know which group you belong to, we will determine it together.
Rehearsals are at Trg Svetog Teodora Vršačkog 37/4 , 26300 Vršac, on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8 p.m.

Veče za pamćenje
U Kongresno-muzičkoj dvorani Centra Millennium u Vršcu, a u saradnji sa Kulturnim centrom, 28. marta održali smo godišnji koncert pred nama najvažnijom publikom, našom domaćom. Želeli smo da im priredimo snažno i emotivno muzičko veče, ispunjeno bezvremenskim hitovima i upečatljivim horskim aranžmanima.
Rok pop hor “Family” sa nestrpljenjem iščekuje da svoj godišnji koncert podeli sa dragom i vernom publikom, u subotu, 28. marta od 20 časova, u Kongresno – muzičkoj dvorani Centra Milenijum.
Koncertnu sezonu u 2025. godini hor „Family“ započeo je u Temišvaru, nastupom u okviru „Banaton festa“ 31. maja.
„Horski amaterski susreti“ na Zlatiboru festival je koji okuplja horove drugačijeg žanra od onog na šta smo navikli. Ovakvi horovi se u novoj terminologiji nazivaju „alternativni“, a među takve spadamo i mi. „Family“ je nastupio druge večeri festivala, u punoj dvorani Doma kulture u Čajetini, uz još dva odlična hora iz Zenice i Leskovca. Nema sumnje da je repertoar našeg hora obradovao publiku, jer su do kraja koncerta svi bili na nogama.
Koncertnu sezonu u 2025. godini hor „Family“ započeo je u Temišvaru, nastupom u okviru „Banaton festa“ 31. maja.
Ovaj festival, koji je već u samom startu prerastao lokalnu priču, do sada je ugostio samo najbolje rok izvođače iz regiona.
Rok pop hor „Family“ je u punoj Kongresno – muzičkoj dvorani Centra Milenijum održao svoj, drugi po redu, godišnji koncert.
Uzbuđeni, čak pomalo euforični, zahuktavamo se u pripremama za naš Godišnji koncert koji će biti održan 14. decembra, od 20h, u Kongresno muzičkoj dvorani Centra Millennium.
At the invitation of our dear friends from Romania, the pop-rock choir "Family" from Vršac will perform outside of Serbia for the first time, at the beginning of May.

The unusual synergy of artistic expression between the FAMILY choir and the multimedia author Elka (Jelena Gorički) resulted in a performance that feedback a fantastic response from the Novi Sad audience.
The first collaboration between the Family choir and Elka was realized at the opening of her exhibition "Morning talks" in the Meeting Point.
